Coordinating the implementation of the Strategy on Sustainable Development Since May 2006, the State Chancellery has been responsible for coordinating the implementation of the strategic development plans of sustainable development. As the State Chancellery also coordinates the implementation of the Estonian Action Plan for Growth and Jobs 2005–2007, which was developed to increase the country’s competitiveness, delegating responsibility for coordinating the implementation of the Strategy on Sustainable Development to the State Chancellery ensures that there is coherence between the goals of the competitiveness strategy and the Strategy on Sustainable Development, and that the goals of the Strategy on Sustainable Development are included in sectoral development plans and the fulfilment of the goals is efficiently monitored. The Commission for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Working Group are also concerned with coordinating the implementation of the Strategy on Sustainable Development. |
