Public invited to bid farewell to Siim Kallas

On Saturday, 29 August, Siim Kallas will be given a state funeral and sent off with full state honours from the Estonia Concert Hall. In addition to the official state memorial ceremony, members of the public will have the opportunity to say farewell and pay their respects.

The doors of the Estonia Concert Hall will open to visitors at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Those wishing to pay their respects should use the staircase on the right and enter through the rear doors of the concert hall. Visitors are asked not to bring wreaths or bouquets; individual flowers may be placed on the designated flower table. A book of condolences will also be available for entries. After paying their respects, visitors may, if they wish, remain in the rear section of the hall or in the balcony to observe the state memorial ceremony. To ensure the smooth running of the event, visitors are kindly asked not to bring large bags into the concert hall.

The state memorial ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the Estonia Concert Hall.

On Saturday morning, members of the public will also have the opportunity to pay their respects along the route of the hearse. The hearse will stop for a minute of mourning at the following locations and times:

  • 9:40 a.m. — Viimsi Rural Municipality Government building
  • 10:10 a.m. — Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • 10:15 a.m. — Bank of Estonia
  • 10:20 a.m. — Ministry of Finance
  • 10:26 a.m. — Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia)
  • 10:30 a.m. — Stenbock House
