Missions Workshop: What Are Missions and How Can They Be Applied?

On 13 March 2024, Piret Tõnurist, Head of Public Sector Innovation at the OECD, led a missions workshop at the Government Office with the aim of raising awareness of missions as a policymaking instrument. The workshop explored the concept of missions, when and under what conditions they can be used, and how missions can be effectively governed at the central government level.

Book Club: “How to Build a State That Is Both Stable and Agile?”

On 8 December 2023, a discussion titled “How to Build a State That Is Both Stable and Agile?” was held, inspired by the newly published book How to Make an Entrepreneurial State: Why Innovation Needs Bureaucracy by three Estonian professors—Wolfgang Drechsler, Rainer Kattel and Erkki Karo. The book had recently received a prestigious management book award in the United States.
